This intensive, instructor-led bootcamp teaches engineers how to provision, operate, and manage distributed systems on AWS with a DevOps mindset. The course is directly aligned with the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (DOP-C02) Exam Guide and focuses on practical skills: building CI/CD pipelines, authoring IaC, automating security and compliance, instrumenting observability, and implementing resilient architectures. AWS-Certified-DevOps-Engineer-P…
Target audience
DevOps engineers preparing for the DOP-C02 exam.
Cloud engineers and SREs who automate delivery and operations on AWS.
Developers who manage deployments and infrastructure at scale.
Key Learning Outcomes (as course module titles)
Automated CI/CD Pipeline Design & Deployment — Build end-to-end pipelines that compile, test, and deploy applications using AWS Code* services, GitHub Actions, or comparable tools; implement blue/green and canary releases.
Infrastructure as Code with CloudFormation & AWS CDK — Create reusable, secure, and CI-driven IaC artifacts (Stacks, StackSets, CDK constructs) for multi-account environments.
Resilient & Scalable Architecture Design for AWS Workloads — Design architectures that meet RTO/RPO goals using multi-AZ/Region patterns, autoscaling, and container orchestration (ECS/EKS/Fargate).
Monitoring, Logging & Observability Implementation — Implement CloudWatch, X-Ray, OpenSearch pipelines, dashboards, and alerting with actionable runbooks.
Automated Incident Detection & Response — Use EventBridge, Step Functions, SNS/SQS, and Systems Manager to detect, triage, and remediate incidents automatically.
Security & Compliance Automation at Scale — Apply least-privilege IAM, manage secrets (Secrets Manager/KMS), automate compliance checks and remediation (Config, GuardDuty, Security Hub).
Module-by-module breakdown
Week 1 — Automated CI/CD Pipeline Design & Deployment
Concepts: pipeline stages, secrets in pipelines, artifact repositories (ECR, CodeArtifact), test automation.
Lab: Build CodePipeline/CodeBuild pipeline deploying a container to ECS/Fargate with automated tests.
Week 2 — Advanced CI/CD & Deployment Strategies
Concepts: immutable vs mutable deployments, blue/green, canary, feature toggles, rollback strategies.
Lab: Implement canary deploy using CodeDeploy/ALB and traffic shifting.
Week 3 — Infrastructure as Code
Concepts: CloudFormation templates, nested stacks, StackSets, AWS CDK patterns, CI for IaC.
Lab: Create reusable CDK constructs and deploy with a pipeline.
Week 4 — Configuration Management & Automation at Scale
Concepts: Systems Manager, Parameter Store, OpsCenter, automation documents, State Manager.
Lab: Automate patching and parameter rotation across accounts.
Week 5 — Resilience, Recovery & Scalability
Concepts: autoscaling policies, multi-AZ/Region failover, DR planning, RTO/RPO.
Lab: Design and test a small-scale DR/replication plan (RPO/RTO validation).
Week 6 — Monitoring, Logging & Observability
Concepts: CloudWatch metrics/logs/insights, X-Ray tracing, metric filters, dashboards, OpenSearch ingestion.
Lab: Build dashboards and alerting; trace a distributed request end-to-end.
Week 7 — Incident Response Automation
Concepts: EventBridge rules, Step Functions for automated remediation, runbooks, post-incident RCA.
Lab: Create an EventBridge → Step Function workflow to auto-quarantine compromised EC2 instances.
Week 8 — Security & Compliance Automation Final Mock Exam
Concepts: IAM best practices, KMS/Secrets Manager, GuardDuty, Config rules, Security Hub, automated remediation.
Lab: Implement an automated compliance check and remediation; take a full mock exam and receive a gap analysis.
Prerequisites & Technical Requirements
See the prerequisites checklist previously provided (basic AWS knowledge, Git, command line, AWS account with permissions). Labs will incur small AWS charges—students are responsible for resource costs.
